Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 10, 2026

The short version: your data lives on your iPhone by default. If you turn on cloud features (Pro auto-send or AI generation), we process your profile, CV, and generated emails on our US-hosted server only to write and deliver your applications. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't embed third-party tracking. Payments go through Apple — we never see your card.

1. Who we are

ApplyMongus ("we", "us") is the iOS app that writes job application emails for you every morning. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and how you can delete it. If anything here is unclear, email support@applymongus.com and we'll explain in plain English.

2. What data the app handles

ApplyMongus works with the following information, all of which you provide or which the app generates for you:

We do not collect your contacts, photos, location, browsing history, or anything else not listed above.

3. Where your data lives

On your device, by default. Your profile, CV, and generated emails are stored locally on your iPhone. In the default (Free) configuration, applying happens through your own Mail app and your data does not pass through our servers.

On our server, only if you enable cloud features. If you turn on Pro features — auto-send or AI email generation — the data needed for those features (your profile, CV, and the generated emails) is transmitted to and stored on our server, hosted in the United States, solely to generate and deliver your applications. We keep it only as long as needed to provide the service and delete it when you ask (see section 8).

4. AI email drafting

When you use AI generation, your profile, CV content, and the target job listing are sent to the Anthropic API, which drafts the email text. Anthropic acts as a data processor for this purpose. Under Anthropic's API policy, data sent via the API is not used to train their models. We only send what is needed to write the email — nothing more.

All purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see, store, or process your payment card details. Apple's handling of your payment data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because most data lives on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app. For anything server-side, email support@applymongus.com and we will respond within the timelines required by applicable law.

Our legal bases for processing under the GDPR, where it applies, are performance of a contract (providing the app's features you request) and legitimate interests (keeping the service secure and working). We do not use your data for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects — the app drafts emails; employers make hiring decisions.

10. Data security and retention

Data in transit between the app and our server is encrypted with TLS. Server-side data is retained only while your account uses cloud features and is deleted on request. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't promise absolute security — but we keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small, which is the best security measure there is.

ApplyMongus is a job application tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you in the app before the changes take effect. We will never quietly downgrade your privacy.
